Dr.
Patricia Webbink
is a licensed psychologist in Bethesda, Maryland, as well as the
director of a large private practice with offices throughout D.C.,
Maryland and
Virginia. With over 40 years of experience, she has assisted
adults, adolescents, children, families and groups in their path toward
healing and self-discovery. Her therapy approach ranges from brief and
crisis-oriented to in-depth and long-term treatment. Dr. Webbink treats
anxiety, depression, and relationship and intimacy issues. She has
experience in insight-oriented psychotherapy, spiritual counseling,
conflict, grief, ADHD, Adult Children of Alcoholics, gifted children,
women's issues, guided imagery through music, weight loss, smoking
cessation and she also conducts psychological testing for all ages. She
is fluent in Spanish and French, and has a working knowledge of German.
Her goal is to help clients develop a new and improved understanding of
themselves and their relationships.
Described
as compassionate, innovative, accepting and holistic, Dr. Webbink has
also
conducted national and international workshops in several languages on
various topics including overcoming difficulties, realizing greater
potential, becoming more self-confident and promoting well-being. In
addition to helping individuals, couples and families in
psychotherapy,
her clients include businesses, private groups, government agencies and
non-profit organizations.
Dr. Webbink sponsored a seminar in D.C. for
John Bradshaw a well-known TV personality and author of best-selling
psychology books on the topic of healing the inner child.
After
observing Dr. Webbink work with participants on stage,
Bradshaw called her a "master therapist.
Dr. Webbink received her Ph.D.
in clinical psychology from Duke University in 1974. She is the author
of The Power of the Eyes
