Patricia Webbink, Ph.D. - Consulting, Media Appearances, Court Testimony

Dr. Patricia WebbinkDr. Webbink has provided consulting services to businesses, government organizations and private organizations and clinics concerning various problems. She has led a retreat for the Georgetown Law Center on “The Chronic Complainer.” She has provided consultation on a wide array of topics, including: stress reduction, sexual harassment, and the problem employee. She has conducted investigations for private corporations regarding personnel issues. She has led wellness seminars throughout the DC metro area for a number of law firms, businesses, the Department of State, the Government Accountability Office, and the US Information Agency.

Dr. Webbink has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC TV News, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Good Morning America.” She has been quoted or highlighted in publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, and The Foreign Service Journal. She has also been a featured guest on a number of radio shows, including “Voice of America” where she shared her knowledge in three languages.

Widely considered an expert in the area of relationships, Dr. Webbink has developed a theory on two different attachment styles and has expounded on various permutations of these styles. She headed a group called “Consults for Singles” and has presented to several different Unity and Unitarian Churches. She has also given talks regarding spiritual issues, including a presentation on Lao Tsu for the River Road Unitarian Church.

She has taught courses at Duke University, American University (D.C.), George Washington University, the University of Maryland in College Park, the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) in College Park and in the Asian Division of UMUC in Korea and Japan. She has given presentations at the American Psychological Association, the Maryland Psychological Association, and the Association for Humanistic Psychology conventions. Dr. Webbink was the first feminist psychologist in the Washington DC area and she has given talks on this topic around the country, as well as to several colleges and universities.

Dr. Webbink has been called to provide expert witness testimony in Federal and State courts. These cases have included those of child custody and psychic injury. She has also worked with a number of tortured French speaking African refugee's and asylum-seekers.
